What do the Planets Sound Like?

Here it comes…

“BUT THERE’S NO SOUND IN SPACE!”

While technically this is true (sound can’t move through a vacuum), there are electromagnetic waves: light, infared, ultraviolet, X-rays, gamma rays and radio waves. When we convert those into sound, we can hear quite a lot.

YouTuber Aryanatomy compiled sounds captured from NASA missions into one video for your listening…pleasure?

YouTuber Mortebianca captured the sounds perfectly with these descriptions:

Sun: I'm calm and Zen

Mercury: I WANT TO GET FREEEEEE

Venus: Giant Gong

Earth: FREAKING AIRPLANES MEANS HUMANS

Mars: Wind, creepy whispers. It's basically Doom.

Jupiter: What you think an H.R. Giger potrait sounds like

Saturn: PURE ABSOLUTE CHAOTIC EVIL FROM A LOVECRAFTIAN HELL

Uranus: It's just wind all over the place. If you're italian, that's a double joke for you. Giant fart maybe?

Neptune: Eternally Heavy Breathing Intensifies

Pluto: "Freaking Alien TV, it's just White Noise".
